Re: The transfer deadline day thread
I watched the window last night, I quite like it even though it was clear we weren't going to do any business. I have to be honest, I don't think I would have bothered wasting any money last night if I owned the club. I don't know Scott Hogan and wish him well at Villa but imagine if they had gone through with it and he did his ACL in a month. Far too risky to sign another potentially injury prone striker who is unproven in the PL anyway. Berbatov? No thanks. Who else was available? Sturridge? Can't see that ever happening but he is also prone to injury and doesn't do much without the ball. I think we will finish mid table with or without spending in the window so what would have been the point to give money away that can be spent more wisely in the summer? I know some of you think the board won't spend but they will if they can get the right targets. January is not the month to do that unless you are in the sh!t. If we get injuries and struggle all the names mentioned could have gone the same way anyway. Let's crack on chaps.

HH

How many teams in the PL have strikers that regularly score 15 PL goals in a season?

Re: The transfer deadline day thread
so the window slams shut and we are one injury away from being in the shit again. i find it odd that they chose to keep Calleri, he must be doing something right in training.

we've settled for somewhere around 12th place and another summer of big promises and small actions.

gank

Show me one West ham striker that has scored 15 goals in one season and I will make you right .

gank you have to be the stupidest prick on here and there are some whopper dick brains to choose from how old are you 19 ?.
If you do not think West ham need a good goal scorer that can score goals easily when he gets the chance to do so, you are an idiot and a wanker, we have many strikers none of which for me and many west ham fans are decent enough goal poachers that is the truth.

There are not many world class strikers available for a loan with an option to buy

HairyHammer, how many fucking first team strikers does one club need you fucking thick cunt?

Just fuck off.

Went to bed early last night woke up like a 7 year old on a Christmas morning, waiting for my Scalextric or evil Knievel, but sadly I got a Jumper full of holes that my semi blind aunt knitted.

Guess that is West ham utd through and through, full of promises and fairy tales but in reality definitely not what you wish for or hope might happen.
When will we ever get that world class striker when ?

It's remarkable how we always manage to get Carroll to look like a new transfer during the transfer window.

Are you suggesting we time purposely time his recovery to avoid buying players?

Re: The transfer deadline day thread
Sir Alf,

I don't remember Cearns, but the others I do. G&S are a massive upgrade on the previous but we now live in the 'I want it now' age.

Unless you have billions like Abramovich or the Arabian Prince, the road to further success must be taken step by step. I believe that we're achieving that.

Re: The transfer deadline day thread
I'm sorry but I don't get why you think it will be any different in the summer. Penny-pinching policies are likely to be just the same then. I think it's ridiculous to expect current in form players to stay fit for the rest of the season. Then what happens. It's remarkable how we always manage to get Carroll to look like a new transfer during the transfer window.

Re: Transfer Rumour discussion thread
The fact that Bilic didn't stress to get in extra bodies is giving the current squad a massive vote of confidence.

Now we'll see how they react over the next 3 months or so, and then we'll have a better idea who needs to go and what we really lack.

I have faith our players will keep us up, hopefully in style, but staying up is enough for now, and we can take stock in the summer.

It's all about Man City now.

Never heard of Jackson Martinez but Wiki tells me that he is a 30 year old Colombian who has scored 6 goals in the last 2 years.

Sounds enough like a Sulli signing to be true.
